Same thing refurb on the Dell outlet is $858 with the same one year warranty as new. And you can get cash back, so only really a deal if you're vehemently against refurbs or can't wait a couple days if they don't have exactly what you want up on the outlet.

http://m.dell.com/h5/m/us/Invento...%2bMTFpval current coupon is 12% off so it'd be the $976 one, but there's a variety to pick from. I'd personally get one with the 256gb ssd and no hdd cuz a spinning disk in a machine with this short of a battery life is just a bad idea.

Correct, double the warranty if you use the Costco citi card. Not sure if it's been posted tho

Edit: I think the last Costco laptop deal was the Nitro 5 which had similar specs but a weaker gpu (1050). Was $699

1. Costco warranty is 2 years, then doubles to four if purchased with their Citi Visa card.

2. The screen on this display is dim and quite horrible. Other specs are good. But that screen makes the laptop unusable.

The older 7000 series had a terrible screen. IMHO - This IPS is actually quite good, but no G-Sync. Also, this has an NVME drive for the 128gb. Dell has had slightly cheaper deals, but generally with just 1SSD no DD and only 8gb of ram.

Just got this laptop last week. The screen is not dim at all. It might not be the best screen in the world, but it's by no means bad.

No I'm referring to this one. It is very dim (less than 250 nits) and the most lackluster of IPS displays I've ever seen. I purchased this laptop a couple of months ago from Costco and returned it because of how bad the display is.

For proof: https://www.pcworld.com/article/3...eview.html

"15.6-inch display is now an IPS screen—but a decidedly mediocre one. While still better than a TN panel, our review unit's display had a dull look to it, probably influenced by the low maximum brightness of about 230 nits"

Does anyone have experience with the 4K version?

https://m.costco.com/Dell-Inspiron-15-7000-Series-Gaming-Laptop---Intel-Core-i7---6GB-NVIDIA-Graphics---4K-Ultra-HD.product.100397554.html

Is this one still pretty mediocre for a 4K or is it good?
