You get more HPs to fix because HP and Lenovo have been swapping places as #1 and #2 laptop brand for a few years. There are simply a lot more HP laptops out there. And Lenovo's Thinkpad models are usually repaired in-house by corporate IT, or sent back to Lenovo for repair.

Laptop brand is not a good indicator of build quality. The dirty little secret of the laptop industry is that almost none of the brand names build their own laptops. They hire ODMs to do it - original design manufacturer. They're like an OEM except they also design the product. The brand name just slaps their label onto it before selling it to you.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis...rers_(ODMs)

HP uses nearly all the major ODMs, including Quanta (who makes the Macbooks - sorry Apple fans, they don't have magical Apple unicorn fairy dust inside, they are just another laptop). So the quality of the laptop you get from them varies highly by model. In my experience, build quality is more closely correlated to MSRP than to brand name. Unfortunately, the entire industry is very secretive about their ODM deals, so it's almost impossible to determine which ODM built which particular model. (We only know the Macbooks are made by Quanta because Apple uses *only* Quanta, though they've used Asus/Pegatron in the past.)

The Surface Pro is nearly impossible to repair. If you get one, be sure to get a multi-year accident warranty on it from a reputable extended warranty company. Otherwise you could have a very expensive paperweight after just 1 year.

This review of the Envy x360 with a different CPU lists sRGB coverage as only 60%. Completely unsuitable for graphical arts, photo, and video work. The screen also appears to be very dim, with a max 230 nits of brightness. Kinda unusual that they'd cripple a laptop which folds into tablet mode with a poor screen, but I've seen that mistake made before.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-...614.0.html

You have to step up to the Spectre x360 to get a decent panel. Or you could connect an external monitor since almost all of those offer 100% sRGB coverage. (Though it'll probably make you cry since it'll be obvious how washed out the laptop's screen is in comparison.)

It doesn't have a dedicated GPU, but it should have an Intel integrated GPU. You can do some light gaming for less GPU intensive games, but don't expect to play Triple A title games on high settings.

You have to have an EPP(Employer Purchase Program) account. I see this price only after I sign in to my account.
