Yes. Less flight time though.

No, the mavic air is different. It's a middle ground between the spark and mavic pro.

apart from flight time isn't mavic air better than mavic pro in all ways? mavic pro is still pretty bulky which is a deal breaker for most regular travelers....

Bulky? Have you held one? It's bigger, sure, but it's far from bulky. I could carry one in a backpack with no issues.

The Mavic Pro has a longer range, a better remote, it's more stable in wind, and has significantly better battery life. When actually used, it's about 50% more. That's pretty huge.

The Mavic Air is more portable, has a better image processor with the same sensor, it's theoretically faster (but I haven't seen that play out in reality), it has more sensors, and more modes.

If you don't mind a refurb, I've seen the Mavic Pro for $699 pretty often.

They trade blows. Pro has the range/signal strength (OcuSync is much more reliable than WiFi) and noticably longer flight times. The Air has slightly better video (100 Mbps bitrate instead of 60), is more portable, and has better obstacle avoidance (includes rear sensors).

At this moment, I would jump on a Mavic Pro Fly More combo for $900 (if that deal ever comes back), or I would just go with the Air Fly More combo at full retail ($1000).

Rumor has it that the Mavic Pro 2 will be announced soon/released in March. Another round of "If you just wait for ______, then ______ will get cheaper." But I'm holding out because it's not exactly prime flying weather right now anyways.

Costco's bundle has ended, but it did include a pretty nice backpack (retails for $50-70) and some prop guards. More deals on the Mavic Pro seem likely soon, given the release of the Air and the rumored announcement of the Mavic Pro 2 around the corner.

No, the mavic pro uses ocusync for transmission whereas the mavic air uses wifi. Ocusync is way, way better.

Yeah I'm sitting on my Costco bundle. The mavic air controller also has a built in basic screen for basic info, but given DJI app does crash sometimes that could be an lifesaver.. also a mavic pro 2 may be in the 1000-1400 range as well, something to consider.
