Is this a better deal than $999 HP envy Costco deal from earlier with 16gb RAM AND 512GB SSD? IT also had Nvidia graphics

I'm not sure if that had Nvidia? Could be mistaken. I think the main difference is the 256 vs 512 memory. Both 7 gen. I will probably buy this. Any idea if usb-c charging? I don't think it has it

I bought this yesterday while browsing through costco laptops.
Waiting for it to ship now.
Was wondering about the battery life?
And if someone can answer if this can be hooked to an external monitor (about 20 inches) and what would I need to accomplish that?
Thanks.

Solid deal. I have the old version from exactly a year ago and it's still running strong. Love the screen and metal unibody construction.

The only thing is that the QHD+ resolution doesn't always play nicely with some applications so windows are text are tiny. It's a windows problem so I don't fault the computer.

This or the Dell Inspiron 5000? The Dell has 8th gen processor and is $100 cheaper...this one has 16gm of RAM and usb c, and looks better. Does the gen 8 Intel makes a lot of difference?

Its super mobile. Very light weight. My only complaint is the same as yours...it doesnt play nicely with text and icons for some software applications that I use for work. For this reason alone, I will be going for a 15.6 inch HP Envy which I ordered today with an i7 8th gen processor. I really dont need the touch screen I think so I will also be on a look out for a Dell inspiron non touch display.
