This includes the base game and ALL DLC (past and future additions).

Great dev that still supports the game 3 years later, and it has a ton of content. Completionist's are averaging 82 hours of gameplay.

Noticed this price this morning, and finally bit. Now trying to decide if I like "keyboard/mouse" or controller.

It has a cult-ish following for VR users. As more folks discover, the less incentive to make it dirt cheap.

It works rather well with Oculus Rift and Revive if you have the Vive.

This game and Alien Isolation are two of the best VR games ever and absolutely two of the best looking, but they aren't "official" VR releases. They actually have VR support built-in, but it wasn't documented. Both require 1 minute to alter a single game file to enable VR and if you want the absolute greatest graphics you'll need a 1070 minimum as they look better than Doom VR and Fallout 4 VR.

Wait what?? I've never even heard of that. Now I'm going to have to look it up. So it's the same game on the regular PC and the VR? Or different games?

For Alien Isolation, go HERE [github.com] and download the main file, 5.94 MB MotherVR.0.4.0.zip
Unzip and drag the dxgi.dll (and openvr_api.dll if you want SteamVR) into your Alien Isolation game folder. That's it. Really, that's all you do.
If you're up to date on Oculus, you can also use the images from StoreAssets_for_Oculus_1_17 to replace the auto-generated images created in \Oculus\Software\StoreAssets\
If you'd like to disable the mod (so you can switch back to play it in regular 2D), add -novr in the Launch Options in Steam

Note: You might not need to, but I added "-steamvr" to the launch options in steam in the properties box (dont include quotations) Looks like it might not be needed with the newest update.

Also, its less than $12 on CDKeys HERE [cdkeys.com]. The absolute best horror game in VR right now and since VR is so immersive.... One of the greatest horror experiences in the history of gaming

For Dying Light. Make sure you have run the game at least once so that it creates a file called "video.scr" in your documents directory. That file stores all the game options for graphic modes.

Note: depending if you choose to run normal or custom, you'll have two video.scr files, make sure you choose the right one or just alter both if you want. Just don't alter the custom one and wonder why the main normal game isn't loading into VR.

So you install the game, you run it once and then you go into windows and search your documents folder for that video.scr file. Change the ".scr" extension to ".txt" so you can edit it quickly in your text editor. In the file you'll see a line like this:
!OculusEnabled()
Go ahead and delete the "!" then save the file and return the ".txt" extension back to ".scr"

Thats pretty much it. Though you'll want to turn off AA in the graphics options to make shadows better looking. I also removed film grain and other stuff as a personal preference. When you start the game Steam will warn you its not VR, but don't worry it'll open in a theater window on your desktop and bam its playing in the headset.

Edit: Opps, forgot you "may" need to uncheck the box in the properties field to allow the game to play in desktop theater mode. Leave alone first, if it doesnt run in VR then uncheck it.

Thank you for the tips! So i actually have a Windows mixed reality headset with revive already. This should technically work with that too correct? I was about to post on Reddit to ask the question but thought I'd ask you in case you knew. If it does I'll definitely get dying light. Not sure how I feel about alien isolation yet I need to watch a few gameplay videos. I just got a gtx 1070 egpu so can't wait to make use of it!

Sorry - I don't know first-hand. I actually did own the Samsung Odyssey MR, but after two malfunctioning units I returned it (Such a damn good deal too) before I knew about these games. You have 2 hours/14 days to play a game on Steam and still ask for a refund so just buy Dying Light ASAP and test it out before the promo is over.

The reason folks are using Revive is because Alien Isolation and Dying Light were meant to be played with the Rift. At least way back before they removed it as an option natively. When they programmed VR functions they did it for trade-show demos using a Rift so Vive owners need Revive and possibly MR too. I mean, Dying Light specifically has the option labeled "OculusEnabled()" so Revive to MR should work just as well as to the Vive.

Report back if you try it!.

I'll definitely give it a shot tomorrow. Last question haha. Can you actually use the controllers/motion tracking with the game? I only saw one YouTube video for dying light and I couldn't see him use any movements. Seemed like he was just playing with a regular xbox controller or something. Thanks!!

Motion controllers/trackers, no. Both games can be played with either the Xbox controller or a keyboard/mouse combo. The Xbox controller came with my Rift, but I'm glad it did as standing with the wireless controller has better immersion than sitting with a keyboard/mouse IMHO.
