I haven't played this however I played Dynasty Warriors back like 14 years ago... they have a formula and it doesn't change. I never got into it. You run around, hack and slash and kill huge mobs, then eventually a boss comes out and you do the same. Since then they've added some additional mechanics and reskinned it for Zelda and Fire Emblem but from my perspective (again, of a guy who couldn't get into it during the PS2 era) it gets repetitive fast. It should be fine if you want something casual.

Switch games are always so expensive it makes me wonder why this is being price cut. Is it any good?

This one is mostly for the fans of FE series. If you are not a fan, I will say skip it.

I'd go so far as to argue that fans of FE might not like it. Fans of Dynasty Warriors will, though. Expecially if they also like FE.

Good price on the LE. If you're on the fence, I think theres only a small chance it will go lower until it sells out forever.

Just fyi. You can buy standard edition from google express for about 42 and then use the 20% off code for using app. Brings price down to around 34.
My google express shows the special edition is 50 so 20% brings down to 40. ymmv

I liked Hyrule Warriors, and many say this is better. I only am about an hour in, and it seems like it is still good. Being an FE fan will make it better, but it is still a great time to play after you are done with BotW & Odyssey.

First party Nintendo Switch games stay expensive, but the 3rd party games that use Nintendo characters are usually still pretty great, but go on sale like normal 3rd party games (such as Ubisoft's Mario & Rabbids).

It may not have sold as well as they expected since FE is more of a niche fan-base than Mario or Zelda, and this game wasn't advertised very heavily. I think they probably just overproduced since special editions are usually sold out soon after release.

Yup. No one really wants a special edition of this game. If it was for the main title fire emblem like we're getting soon, sure, but not for a spin off.

This game is worth it! I'm a casual Fire Emblem fan but I love warriors type of games so this was the perfect matchup. One of the reasons I got a switch and I feel was better than hyrule warriors. You can set the difficulty to play like FE where if a unit dies in battle you can't use them again. All in all throughout the battles I felt like I was still playing fire emblem ordering units to different locations and having them avoid units they're weak against. You can switch between 4 characters in battle so you can plan and execute your strategy. I had a lot of fun with it and this price I would recommend it to everyone.

I'm 118 hours in with almost everything done, as well as the DLC. I liked this game a lot more than Hyrule Warriors. I remember having to replay levels again (in Hyrule Warriors) and again to get items to unlock certain levels in adventure mode. In FE, I only need to do that when I need enough KOs to unlock a special weapon's true power. If you use the right level, that only takes 20-30 minutes.

History Mode is what got me hooked.

It's good, but not great. I bought the special edition, but then returned it after I read the reviews. The playable roster is pretty good but there are characters that play almost the same as other characters so there isn't as much variety. The environments and enemies are pretty generic and not great. It's technically a better game than the gamecube's Hyrule Warriors, but it's not nearly as fun. And now that Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition has been announced, I suggest waiting and getting the much better game unless Fire Emblem Warriors hits the clearance bin. And I would assume that a few of the things that make Fire Emblem Warriors technically better will carry over to Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition.

And I really think this will get lower. Unless it gets to $30 + GCU low, I passing this one.
