Not sure what you're comparing to if you say roomscale is below average? There's really only 4 VR systems that could be called roomscale right now, the Vive, Rift, Windows MR, and PSVR. Of those, the Vive is the top, yes, but you only really notice a difference between it and a 3 sensor Rift setup if you have an extremely large play area. For up to around 14x14' they're so close they are almost indistinguishable. With 2 sensors, it's about the same except you can only go up to about 10x10'. The Windows MR devices track the same regardless of the size of the room, but their controller tracking is worse than even a 2 sensor Rift setup so I'd still place overall tracking below Rift. Finally, the PSVR doesn't have 360 controller tracking at all so I'd place it at the very bottom in tracking terms. So either way, the Rift is above average, but 3 sensors does push it close to the top.

Is it worth it at this price or should I wait till it drops to $300? Is that actually an obtainable price?

I got mine last Prime day (July) for $300. It was only available for a few minutes and that's the lowest I've seen since.

I'm waiting for next Black Friday. I predict it'll be 250 on sale
If you're waiting till BF, pretty sure it'll be much lesser than $250. With new Oculus Go coming in, many would jump onto that one for netflixing, etc etc. With that being said, Oculus Go has a completely different purpose!

I see the amazon vr system one shows 2 sensors and they sell them for $59 each

does this newegg one include two? I dont see it itemized in the check out on newegg and I love making assumptions. Smilie

also, any point in buying more sensors?

You only need 2 for room scale and sensors are in the very first picture :-/

Room scale is below average with two and average with three. The Vive does much better in that area.
