TurboTax Self-Employed Free Federal and State Filing for Uber Drivers YMMV?

I didn't see this anywhere so I thought I'd post it. Sorry if repost.

TurboTax says you need to start your return via going through Uber pass through link, when logged into Driver account. But I discovered this offer after I'd already completed most of my return. To avoid deleting all my progress, I was able to log out of TurboTax, go to pass through link, start a new return (not logged in) until I was forced to Login, which brought up my return in process, and was then able to check out for Free.

I only made a couple hundred bucks driving for Uber in 2017, but this saved me almost $150 (1 federal, 2 state returns--my tax situation is likely more complex than most).

Also comes with 6 month trial of QuickBooks, for those interested.

Worked for me so far. Big thumbs up. But I'm curious about the "filing deadlines" above -- I have to file by late Feb for state??

This is still a great deal. Even though the free state discount expired 2/28, the $39.99 fee per state includes free e-file (since it's the online version of TurboTax).

Submitted my federal tax + two states on 3/8 for $80 total (all e-filed).

I clicked the link and see turbotax offer in my dashboard. The link to turbotax when clicked simply takes to usual turbox tax webpage and don't show the promotion. Am I missing something?

They just updated their site: https://www.uber.com/drive/tax-in...rtnership/

Looks like it's on for this year, although no working links yet. But a few days ago it said "check back" and now it says "Free TurboTax Self-Employed" and "February 28, 2019: Deadline for free federal and state filing with TurboTax Self-Employed, 50% off TurboTax Live Self-Employed"

Definitely keep an eye on this

I've been waiting for this to go live. It's now working for 2018 tax returns!
