Best Buy [bestbuy.com]

Cost breakdown:
  • Set up a device payment plan (DPP) as follows, on a new or existing line:
    • $9.99/month for 24 months
  • You can:
    • A) pay off the full balance owed for the phone after 15 days from activation date ($9.99 x 24 = $239.76)
    • B) keep it on the payment plan for the full 24 months if you want
    • C) go as many months into the payment plan as you want, then pay off what's left on the remaining balance whenever you want.

Other costs:
  • Tax owed on the phone's price, due today when you checkout
  • $30 activation (new line) or upgrade fee (existing line)

The phone has been out of stock with it coming back in briefly every once in a blue moon. Some may feel the cost for this phone is too high for early 2018; but if you've been wanting it brand new, it's either this or Verizon for $312 + tax + activation/upgrade fee (or more than this from reseller market).

Still considered a great phone in the battery-life department.

Seems like a pretty good deal, no? Bill credits are the devil.

Bad link, excellent phone, sweet deal!

Darn, no Band 12 for T-Mo.

Wow, that price was sweet indeed. Sorry I missed it as I really like Moto phones for their signal grab and all around performance. The lack of some bands for T-Mo and At&t further kills it for me on GSM.

The Moto Z Play Droid (this phone) had one sale for $5.99/month, no mods included, 8 months ago in 2017: https://slickdeals.net/f/10190036

A different model - the regular Moto Z Droid - is the one people are thinking of that was $4.99/mo ($120), with two Moto Mods, a few times:

Best Buy pulled this one from their site a few months back. It's popped up in stock again at random about three times since, then the page goes dead again. Verizon is also in the process of retiring it from their own website (check here [verizonwireless.com]).

Nice! My best Verizon deal was when they introduced the Pixel in Dec 2017. Total cost was $240. and bought/flipped two on eBay at $600. and $580. before eBay fees. That phone is still at the top of the chain.

December 2016 and in one day, after selling my droids I walked out of best buy with 6 pixels and 6 100 dollar gift cards. Those were even better money makers than the droids plus a free 600 bucks at best buy that I spent on my rotten children
