Filson has gone downhill since being bought by a New York fashion executive about ten years ago. They're well into the 'EddieBauerization' of Filson at this point, destroying their reputation and rich history in the mining and logging industries.

Not paying 150 bucks for a quartz watch, sorry
$150 for a quartz with sapphire crystal isn't a bad deal, especially if you like the style and brand. The watch is definitely not for me, but it's not a bad deal.

A watch is an aesthetic and ergonomic object, the movement literally has almost no value whatsoever besides a d!ck-measuring contest of how expensive the movement is. Its like saying a 300hp chevy malibu is a better deal than a 220hp audi because the chevy has more hp... its technically a better value if you only see things in terms of horsepower numbers, but if you have any sense of aesthetic and ergonomics you would buy the audi.

This is kinda tempting. I had a very limited edition 38mm Seiko that had the front look 98% identical to this (even the color, date cut-outs, number font, and ridges on bezel). Only difference is the nicer back and crown on the Filson. I sold it because that Seiko had a mineral glass that scratched super easily; so I sold it 3 years ago as I don't like scratches on my watches. After selling it, I regretted it because I really loved how that Seiko looked and I couldn't find a new copy of that Seiko anywhere anymore.
