bought one when it was 40, the 5ghz channel went kapuff after 1 night. Shipped it back right away. Getting tired of these refurb routers. Something's wrong and the QC is not there.

I got the Amazon $70 deal for the C9 AC1900.

This seems like a better deal, no? Assuming the refurb has no issues.

Looks like it comes with a 90 day manufacturers' warranty and I can count my Citi card 2 year extended warranty anyway.

Stay away. My c7 refurb had to be RMA'd after 6 months and the second one only lasted a year in a half.

Yes. Almost all Citi cards have the benefit if you look in their Guide to Benefits there's an explanation.

I'd say yes TPlink the best routers I have used not sure if this one is DD-WRT compatible if youre going to flash it might want to check their site for support. I grabbed that $10 ASUS the other night going to flash it over and install VPN on it.

My main Router is TPLink Archer C7 v4

Here is a good deal on front page new @ amazon

V1 of this router can be set up with DD-WRT according to Newegg reviewers and one of them gives the links to download the firmware and instruction to do it.

I pulled the trigger as it is a good deal for a 1750AC, assuming I'll get V1 and assuming the refurbished router works properly ;o)

Did you have to down grade the existing firmware prior to flashing dd-wrt?

I've had bad luck with routers over the years. My refurbished. Linksys ac router drops connection on my android phone all the time, usually just for a few seconds though. Still, it can stop online-only games from working. I'm still looking for something with decent range that works consistently with wireless ac speeds for under $100. Many routers I see are $250. I think I'm not going to buy refurbished this time.
