I have the wine version of that same pumping valve. Not worth it, in the least. It barely gives you any vacuum pressure at all.

If you misspell the key word in the key function of your product (its 'pores' not 'pours') its kinda a bad sign...

Not sure I believe in this one, but I've had the wine version for years, and on the contrary, I find it gives quite a bit of presure and makes a difference if you keep a bottle around for a while..

Damn. SD makes me purchase things that i don't really need. Now i need to convince my wife about its usability.
The lack of a reliable marinator is obviously holding you back from your life's ambitions. Waiting hours for your tofu to marinate, while molecular diffusion works at its glacial pace, can be a tragic experience. Many good people have succumbed to marination anxiety. A good marinator can prevent that; it can be a friend for life. Anyone who loves you will obviously buy you one.

a pressure cooker is better constructed than this plastic lid. You will need a vacuum pump and a short hose.

It looks exactly like the "VacuVin" brand I bought from Amazon in 2013. I bought it to replace the Food Saver marinator, which won't hold vacuum. It couldn't be taken apart for cleaning. Most likely not following instructions, and allowed marinate to get inside and dry up.
The material is not as thick as Food Saver, when you apply the vacuum the container body sucks in slightly. So far it is holding up. It is easy to clean. The one way valve can be cleaned thoroughly with ease. Don't have to bring out the machine to use. Don't have to worry about liquid getting to the valve, I can shake the whole thing to get even marinate.

I have a marinator with the higher-powered FoodSaver. It does NOT work. Don't be scammed into this, marination happens one of two ways -- agitation and/or long-term soaking. I tried it again for the 4th time this week with just soy sauce (which should impart at least a palpable salty flavor after three hours) and got unflavored chicken as a result. Vacuum was strong as well -- can't imagine this is comparable to even that.

these gimmicks are such bullshit.

you wanna marinade raw, throw it and your marinade in a zip lock bag,
draw all the air out and let that sit for a while in the fridge before use.
save some marinade for later to bast on to the protein while cooking.
