The blendtec/vitamix fan boys have beat me to post, but I have an older version of this.

The blade design is not the easiest to clean, but what does get blended, gets blended well. For the price compared to those, it does well enough.

If you are a vegan crossfitter hipster who absolutely needs to drink kale, avoid this, pay the 4x money for a vitamix, and join the rest of the fanboys.

I had this Ninja and I hated it. Maybe others have different experiences but the square design didn't work for me at all. Stuff would get caught in the corners and not blend or go up the sides and continually need scraped down or it wouldn't get touched at all.

I have this and use it often to make smoothies. Paid $80 in 09/2016. Mechanically, everything is still working great. The plastic container has developed a residue that is difficult if not impossible to remove. Still happy with the purchase. Good value.

Blendtec and Vitamix all have PR problems in the past. Black specks and faulty jars ect. You will find on vitamix reviews people that had a horrible time with the blender and even vitamix just settled a case where they had to replace the jars and give credit. Blendtec too has problems with jars.

BUT! and it's an important but ... both vitamix and blendtec have vast majority that like the vitamix and blendtec. AND both vitamix and blendtec have very long warranties that cover everything and replace and ship you replacements FREE for 8 years for blendtec new and 7 years for vitamix.

As to ninja they don't have long warranty but they can be cheaper.

Also both vitamix and blendtec are taking measures to improve their jars. Blendtec used to have large rubber gaskets and now it's more silicon and metal. And vitamix changed how they make the jar.

Not sure why their has to be a fan boy type debate, both vitamix and blendtec are good blenders ,and ninja is good too but is china made and 1 year warranty and you have to pay shipping and jump through hoops to get ninja to resolve problem.

Yeah a NEW BLENDTEC was between 159-179 within the last couple of months with 8 year warranty. Whereas NEW vitamix is more money. And this ninja is 50-60 bucks.
