This monitor looks pretty sharp what with the 4k IPS paneling. But why is the color range limited to 16 million? Shouldn't IPS displays have a much larger range?

I have this monitor and it looks very nice. Very surprised with image quality. This is my first 4k in 27" and I'd say absolutely go larger. Packing 4k in 27" puts my face at about 6" from the screen. That's absurd considering i usually sit about 18" back.

Your right. Just checked mine, its 8 bit on both hdmi and display port from rx480. Still looks nice though, just cant get over how ultra tiny everything is. I guess even my 34 ultrawides are both 8 bit and I'm happy with those too so no worries.

IPS and 8bit is not a good combination. When you go for IPS, you lose the 1ms response time from the TN and get 5ms in exchange for image quality from the IPS. When you get an IPS with 8bit, you are basically getting jack of all trade.

The description here says that the monitor is 2k while the title says it's 4k. To clarify, this monitor is 4k.
