I have tried to research this tv which seems like it is good quality. However, anyone that knows for sure, please chime in. It is Native 120hz (240hz motion). It has good reviews on Amazon.

Overall, it seems like a pretty good deal to me but I am open to opinions (I know some will think it's a good deal and some will think it is horrible). Since I have not actually ordered yet (very close to pulling the trigger) any feedback on the quality of the TV would be appreciated.

rtings has reviewed this tv so you can dive in there.

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/sj8500

"The LG SJ8500 LED 4k TV is a good smart TV with decent picture quality and better than average viewing angles. It gets decently bright in HDR, and it can display a wide gamut of colors without gradations. Its input lag and motion blur are both notably low, making it a good choice for gamers. Unfortunately though, its blacks aren't very deep and its uniformity of both greys and blacks is quite poor overall".
Update 11/10/2017: LG's new Active HDR feature (Dynamic Contrast: Low) improves the EOTF considerably, so we recommend enabling it. Unfortunately Active HDR doesn't work in Game or PC mode.

Thank you very much for the insight. That Sony looks like a great deal. Unfortunately, when I went over to that thread people are mentioning that the deal looks dead. I clicked the link and it's back up to $1,199 Cool

I bought this tv used from a reseller on ebay for $750 a couple weeks ago. The picture is great during the daytime, the colors and resolution are great. But at nighttime, if there is a dark scene and there is a brighter object in the scene, it shows light bleed and light around the object when it should be dark. That's one of the biggest criticisms of the tv if you read the reviews. If that bothers you, I wouldn't recommend getting the tv. I mostly watch tv during the day in a bright living room, so I don't mind it.

The LG is an IPS panel with poor black levels. I would recommend the Vizio M65 or P65 over this deal.

Consumer reports rates this tv higher then any of the other suggestions here except the Sony. The rtings.com review above is for the 8500 not the 8000. Consumer reports rates the 8000 higher then the 8500. Seems to be the best deal going today, ordered one.
