FYI picked this up, the hub is a different model number , not sth-250, like when you buy the hub alone. Apparently they are both the v2 hub, not sure what the heck they're doing. And my included motion sensor is the older version ( lacks indent around sensor eye) with supposedly better range, at least that's what the community states

I use mine for my small secondary place / efficiency. I sometimes watch movies there and the regular lights are too bright so I bought a smartthings compatible rgb bulb. I use it to dim lights, and to turn it off when I go to sleep. I also have a wax warmer plugged into the plug and turn it on before coming over so it can smell nice. Also for security and to know the temperature of the place.

I'm using my Smarthings hub for implementing a security system. I purchased some cheap window/door sensors, along with a few motion detectors (all battery powered) for a cheap security system. I receive text and notifications on my Android phone when there is an alert.

The Samsung smartthings app 'should' automatically enable away mode to arm/disarm the system. I think their app has some issues however since the auto arm/disarm does not always work.

Reserved one online and picked it up in store. A certain website RMN had a $5 off in store coupon that they also accepted, so it was $108.47 OTD with tax! Thanks OP!!

I have a homemade smart garage door opener that automatically opens when I get home and will automatically close if everyone leaves the house and it is still open. I also made a custom "scarecrow" with a motion sensor and an alarm siren to keep the cat out of our front room. These tasks required writing some custom code.

I also do more traditional things like having driveway lights come on when I get home after dark.

Maybe a Ymmv but I found this kit at two sams clubs for $94 if you can't find it. (Including bonus water sensor). Didn't have a need for it so I left but might be worth checking out

Are you using Automation Routines? when I use the default "Goodbye!" routine my security system automatically arms as expected without problems
