cant comment on this Receiver, but I do have three Yamaha receivers and two are refurbished from accessories4less. both looked brand new and work flawless. +1 for A4less

Yamaha only issued a DV/HLG firmware update for models V681-up. Anything below it did not get the update. If you are looking for a DV capable receiver look elsewhere. Unfortunately really because it's a good receiver aside from that, especially at this price.

I have it and it's amazing. If you only need 7 channels and no preouts this is the best bang for your buck, Atmos and DTS-X are the newest HD audio standards and this supports it.

What is the cheapest for a preouts receiver? 7810 has preouts but it costs double!

Can you please advice if you can play different music in 2 different zone or same music?

The specs are showing zone B. My understanding is zone B has to be playing same music as zone A.

If you want different sources of music, in a different room, you'll need a receiver with zone 2.

Just to confirm, this will pass through HDR 10 and Dolby Vision, right?

That is most unfortunate. Thank you for the info though.

I only have a polk 5.1 set with this (same price from frys a few months ago), and it sounds great. i like that i can control it with my phone over wifi coz my son and wife always misplace the remote. it has all the features i currently need, and some future-proofing features like others have mentioned. i dont have the equipment to test those more advanced features yet, but i'm sure those will be fine, too...it's a yamaha after all.
