If these sound anything like the over ear ath-msr7, they are a steal. Wish there were more reviews..

I was thinking of getting some SR80s since the wide sound stage. How do these compare?

Here is a line quoted from a review from Audio56 (?) ; "if you prefer a brighter-sounding pair of headphones, the SR5BK won't steer you wrong. In fact, we'd go so far as to say that these headphones sound like a cheaper and slightly-less-awesome ATH-MSR7…but maybe that's going too far." EEK!

I don't know anything about these ATs, but the 80s would blow your mind. I've never heard anything before or since even remotely like those cans. Cannot recommend more highly.

I received these headphones as a gift and love them. I wish the ear pieces were larger, as they don't entirely cover your ear which doesn't effect sound quality but would be a comfier headphone. They sound really good. I've been grabbing these over my Bose QC15s for when I want greater music/movie clarity and I don't need the noise canceling.

How well do these headphones fit for people who wear glasses?
Since they are on-air, I wouldn't recommend them if you wear glasses. From my experience, they tend to pressure right above the ear where the glasses sit

I've tested both in a local audio store, and the sound from them is fairly close to that from MSR7 to my ears. I actually felt like they had a bit more of a punchy bass, compared to the more reserved bass of MSR7s. Though of course neither of those headphones are for bassheads at all--more for very clear and detailed sound. They are really lightweight and comfortable. I would say their negative compared to MSR7 would be that they don't block out much outside noise compared to MSR7, but that's a common problem for on-ears headphones vs. over-ears.

no, still wired, but the cable can be removed from the headphones. you still have to plug in the headphone cable to your music listening device of choice via the 3.5mm audio connection.
