I was looking for a surveillance system recently with 8 1080P cameras and this is the best one that I was able to find for the price. I know it's not an NVR but the price was enough to justify a DVR for me.

The second better find for me was: https://www.costco.com/Q-See-8X8-...80172.html at $300+Tax as well.

And the third better find was: https://jet.com/product/LaView-10...d8046ca7b7 at $300 for a 16 channel one with 8 cameras.

FYI - Remember you can use Cat6/5e cable with Baluns for coax/bnc kits, this way if you want to it will be easier to upgrade to a NVR setup in the future as you'd have already done the cable pulls. ( which can be a good weekend DIY job for easier setups ( 1 story, easy attic access or crawl space ) - or more complex if you have a 2 story home )

Hi Mawashi,

If you're looking for the best, go for those Dahua OEM starlight HD-CVI cameras I mentioned.

All the kits you see sold typically will have cameras which are more affordable models than those. ( i.e. OK for day, not as good for night images )

Thanks Mat, I agree that those dahua are really great but difficult to get so was just exploring options.
