The one from Amazon does not come with the "SpinScrub powered hand tool" in the accessory tools. That is a must for cleaning upholstery (imo). This was the reason I went with the Kohls package last time. It seems that item is only included at Kohls.
The machine works great, very pleased.

Hoover makes good carpet cleaners. I've had one for about 10 months and have dogs. It's running 4 or more times a week and cleans just as good as when I first got it. That was after buying a Bissell that failed in under 2 weeks. In fact, I've had about 5 Bissell products fail in the past year, so I'm trying to stick to Hoover and Shark products.

I ended up getting this one for around $60 from Kohl's a while back. It leaked water bad and quit working. It was under warranty and got a replacement for free and it's worked great. I'd rather have one the steamed or warmed the water.

Talk about timing btw my purchase and this posting. After having my dog for 10 years, I finally had to get an upright carpet cleaner yesterday evening in an emergency from WalMart - dog had diarrhea, stepped over it, and then tread footprints all over the carpet. He's never done that in the past, so my portable Bissell had been serving me well for years to do small spot cleaning. The Hoover I picked up was 10% off for $90 and I'm shocked at how well it performs for such a cheap carpet cleaner. Using the bottle of detergent it came with and following instructions, my carpet felt dry to the touch after only 6 hours. The biggest thing I love about the one I purchased is that it actually looks like a normal vacuum cleaner. Many of the upright Bissell carpet cleaners I looked at looked super gaudy (e.g. black with bright orange and purple accents all over....yuck!).

Taxes? The $97.99 doesn't include taxes.

I got this in December with accessory for $100 on Amazon. I've only used it once, but the results were spot on. The reviews have me concerned about what will happen after a year of use, but on average I spend between 200 and 300 to clean my carpets (4 rooms, hall and stairs) two times a year. If I can get two years with no problems I'll consider that breaking even. The attachments did a good job on the stairs. It is a bit larger than my previous and you do have to change/reload about one per room. I do wish it had a heater, but motorized brush was what I wanted more as I can get warm water from the sink. There is weight when doing the stairs when full, but the tube is long enough that get most from the top and bottom of your staircase. If you have a wider step for a turn or curve you may have be able to use that as well.

A YouTuber thats obsessed with carpet shampooers (yes, they exist) sold me on this one and I have zero regrets.

Our previous one cost about $600, was a swiss army knife (could steam, dry heat, etc) yet it's suction was Michael Jackson level.. this model is more like Miley Cyrus, couldn't recommend it more.
