It's only for the iPhone 8 64GB. The $250 gc deal is good for iPhone 7 and up any size

Yes I saw that. The black Essential also has a $250 GC but way overpriced.

$300 is the highest GC offer ever for any iPhone, only higher GC offers I recall are Samsung ones for $400 but that's with trade in.

I got a $350 target gc for Verizon new lines last year end of march. 50% off cartwheel end of April/early May was even better but that required port in.

Also Best Buy had $350 off iPhones with new lines last year for sprint. Don't remember the exact model, I think it was iPhone 7.

I'm about 3 months into the 1-year free Sprint deal. Can this be used on that?

Sprint (via online chat support) countered this offer with $18.05/month (no gift card). The phone ends up costing about $12 more after 48 months, but that was their initial offer. You may be able to push them for a further discount. You might have more luck over the phone as well. I'm not on a lease plan yet thank god, so I decided to keep my current phone.

I tried to take advantage of the $250 gc deal last week, but the Best Buy rep told me I had to sign up for the unlimited everything plan for $65.00/month. I opted for the Moto x + ProjectFi deal that was recently posted instead, but wish I could have gone with a cheaper sprint plan + iphon 8 + gift card.

Is it $500 unlocked with $300 gift card?

Can we cancel the line immediately and keep the gift card? I understand that the phone will not be unlocked but csn be used on another sprint line.

No...for that line, only if you open a new line

Kinda worse deal than it seems. Especially if you're paying $8 month total tax for the free year like me.

Gift card merely negates most of what is already an overpriced phone. The 8 series is second banana now, on top of being the fourth year series with no design change just faster CPUs and splash proofing. And this is on the small one only, which loses big features like optical zoom and video stabilization, battery life.

So you lose like $75 of the GC on sales tax, and end up paying $30+ a month for 24 for this phone that due to the success of the X, will likely be heavily discounted, like the 7 was, in a couple of months. Your balance owed circa July will far exceed the new price people will be walking off the lot with so to speak. Meanwhile Sprint has the X for $30 a month (or this phone for $15) for only 18 months not 24, with upgrades allowed after 12, just no gift card. I'm not sure if the 6-month remainder buyout is then priced at $30 a month or $15, but if you're a frequent upgrader, you're paying the equivalent of $270 for it every 18 months (or $180 every 12), better than the lost value were you to go the — buy full price outright -> sell for as much as possible after new one comes out -> apply that craigslist/eBay money towards new one outright — route.

In other words if you bought an 8 for $750 now, you'd maybe be able to sell it for $400-450 after a year, so you're technically "spending" like $300 a year on phones, where as with Sprints half off lease deals you're only losing $180 ish .

Then again, this only works if you get your new upgrades in the spring or summer when they'd actually be running half offs on them, and they might make you jump through hoops after year one to get the sale price as an upgrade rather than new account port in.

PS I was at Best Buy a week ago inquiring about the 24 GC deal and 50% lease deal, and the employee let me know of a deal that I didn't see advertised anywhere, or as an option when configuring online.

It was buy an 8 Plus full price over 24, get regular 8 free, with no restrictions like new members only or trade in, etc.

if you had a family member cool with the smaller one. Decent deal to get both for $33.50 ish a month.

dont know if it ended but I bet it'll be back often cause of how much the X has been selling like fire.
