**To those who are coming late to the party: The thread got so many votes because the trade-in values were $100 more than what you will see on 2/24 or later. The Note 8 was ~$400 trading in a V20, for instance**

Samsung Trade in FAQ [samsung.com]
I don't see why these $130 V20 wouldn't work for the $350 trade in.

Guide for T-mobile customers to unlock T-Mobile devices purchased from Samsung
T-Mobile Note 8 buyer has his phone unlocked and is not a customer of T-Mobile thanks dadmi!
Another NON T-Mobile customer had his T-Mobile note 8 unlocked with the guidethanks scorpic
Option 1: Call T-Mobile and get your request escalated to a Sr. Technical support rep. From there, they need to have your device entered into the device distribution inventory system. Once that is done, you will be able to use the Device Unlock app on your phone.

Option 2: T-Force
1. go to facebook.com and send them a message
- Request to speak to T-Force and someone from that team will immediately take over the message
- Please note there is a delay between responses (I'm guessing they're talking to multiple folks) of about 3 minutes so be patient
2. Tell them you bought your device your T-mobile branded device directly from samsung and you need your IMEI added to their Database in order to use the Unlock App
3. They will ask for the following
- email address
- phone number (you'll get a link to verify your account)
- IMEI #
- proof of purchase (send them a picture via the facebook messenger app)
4. They are aware of the situation and will escalate it to the correct team
5. Wait 72 hours (I actually only needed 48 hours)
6. Go to the Unlock App on your Samsung S8(+) and click the permanent unlock button (see attached picture below)
- if successful it will tell you and you'll need to restart your phone (I had to do like 3 restarts)
- just keep spamming the button once or twice a day (be patient...it'll work out)
- the Unlock App will disappear from your app drawer (it's actually just in the "disabled" state so it doesn't show in app drawer)
- Put in another SIM card to verify (I put in a AT&T SIM to validate)
7. Be happy because this was super easy
Note: do not need to wait 40 days (this is not true ... I had my phone for only 1 day)

I'll break it down for you guys.

Note 8 $475 + V20 $130 = $605+tax if applicable

Selling the note 8 for $605 equals free headphones

Selling the headphone for just $100 equals Note 8 for $505

Sell both for potentially $100+ profits

*Other cash back sites that I can't mention can also increase savings/profits*

I see $750. What am I doing wrong? I'm logged into Unidays and the Samsung page says "Welcome Samsung Education Store Member! Please login to enjoy our special pricing."

Do I need to login to the Samsung site to see the $600 price?

Tried to sign up on Unidays using my edu address but that wasn't enough. It wanted me to verify through my schools portal. Is there a way around this?

Not sure if that link will work for everyone but the only way I got it to show the T-Mobile version was to click the headphones or vday offer. Then it showed me carrier specific ones. Only T-Mobile has the discount unfortunately

It doesn't work as verification requires you to connect to school wifi. You know a way around it?

Thanks. Yes I noticed that the price dropped to $600 when I clicked the link in the OP. What's the process to unlock the phone, as I'm not on TMobile. Is there any chance that these will be unlocked out of the box if I don't activate on TMobile?

So tempted. Discount works with both Unidays and Employee Purchase Program. My Galaxy S6 EDGE plus is still humming along though.

Really too bad that AT&T won't price match... I think that I might take a try and call them and see if they will match it.
