Seems interesting, but I am curious if it's worth spending the extra ~15 bucks on the Samsung 960?

There is no reason to buy an inferior product over 15% savings. Get the 960 Evo

The reason why I bought this over the Evo a few months back was because this has MLC and evo has TLC. MLC should, in theory, hold up much better over the years.

If you keep the drive 10 years, probably. Though, I doubt that you will keep the drive in use for10 years.

There is no reason to not keep a fast drive in service for 10yrs+

But with Samsung's reputation should be no reason to not last that long

Obviously a larger one will be more useful in the future

If you use this as a windows boot drive then no reason not to go for 960 EVO. If you use this drive like me for 4k movies processing, EVO is an inferior product.

Just got this drive from Amazon for $90 less than 3 days ago and I already written over 2TB, LOL. But this thing lasts until 350 TBW, 960 EVO is 100 TBW.

Damn 4K movies.

Your image just shows that you wrote 2.2TB in less than two days. He's referring to your comment about the 960 EVO being an inferior product.

The 960 EVO beats the Plextor in every single measurable test. SSD User Benchmark [userbenchmark.com] will give you the details. The claims of the "2,500MB/s sequential read" are false as the average bench is about 701MB/s. That's less than a third of the advertised speed.

960 EVO is an inferior product because Samsung wants you to buy a new drive every few years. In my case, it wouldn't last 10 months.
