This is $2 better than previous Amazon deal. Similar price on ebay but it has never been lower on Amazon.

Ecobee is good stuff.
Our 4 has been great and we used the sensors in every room, basement etc and they double as smartthings motion sensors for security if you are away.

Just had a $.75 cent battery go out in one of these and just messaged them why it didn't last 18+ months and rather than tell me buy a battery they are sending a whole new sensor.

Great customer service

If they continue their product release trend we should see the ecobee5 release in a few months. I wonder if this will be compatible.

But great deal when compared to the $39 Walmart ecobee 3 deal.

These can also be used as motion sensors in ST but no native automation support.

Wow i didn't know that. Care to share the ST thread? I got three sensors; if I can use these as motion sensor with ST, i can free up two of my ST motion sensors and use them elsewhere.

Thanks in advance.

Pretty decent deal, but I can't justify an additional set of sensor just yet.... maybe black friday....

These do work as a motion sensor in ST, but because you still need to have them connected to your Ecobee thermostat in order for ST to see them. The real problem is these motion sensor only monitor a room every 30 minutes to see if someone is in that room. 30 minutes allows your furnace or your air conditioner to adjust a room to a set temperature that you setup.

You're right. The refresh rate seems to be too slow for a motion detection. I did some research and found the thread. Thanks for sharing your ST screenshot.

Got these for $60 in box on eBay. this is a great deal. Been loving my ecobee4 and how it uses the sensors to optimize temp in occupied rooms.

I've only used the Alexa feature to order Alexa only deals as I don't have any other Alexa device.

So how do these really work. Don't you just have one main thermostat? Does it take an average of each room

I need some kind of magic wand for our home!! Our den is nice and warm and my mother's bedroom is freezing, esp. at night. We have older home with one Honeywell thermostat in the den. Back in the day, that thermostat was high tech. You can set temp for various times...leave, return, etc.

Yes, you can set it to use the average of all the sensors all the time or to only average the sensors that have detected presence within 30 minutes.
