Thanks OP, here in MN our state bird is the mosquito and we have a patio we like to spend time on. I used to stand up the belt thermocell units but these look way better.

Buy this! Please ignore the bad reviews and you won't regret it. Most of them are user error and complaining about the replacement cost. I've been using them for over 2 years. keep an eye on Target clearance after summer and the refills will be 50 percent off. Yes the refills are expensive, but it's completely worth it to be able to use your outdoor living space. It works and has reopened our patio here in Minnesota where it was unbearable before.

Would like more feedback from slick dealers on whether these really work. Is there any scientific evidence to show or study that show that it works? Also how much are we talking for the refills and how long do they last?

The regular thermacell is so effective I'll give this a try. Would like a link to the cheap pads to try

Still hopped on it for $11.xx. Picked up some of the refills for 70% off at Target last month.

Going to have to look into refilling the cartridges!

How is this better than using tiki torches with Mosquito repellent fuel? Also why not just buy the backpacker version so you don't have to buy the custom fuel cartridges and can use generic large canisters?

Thanks for letting me know about the backpacker one. Reviews are 3/5 and it looks like they take different mats, but the use of standard fuel can is huge. Might cancel this and just wait for a deal on the backpacker model.
