Craftsman 9inch 15amp angle grinder [sears.com] $74.99 Free Shipping - NO store pickup!

Please note: This deal involves "ShopYourWay" points. SYW Points are only valid for purchases at Sears, Kmart or Sears Outlet stores. These have a very short expiration period. You should have in mind a purchase that you plan to make in the next few days. This is the same $50 back on $75 that has been running for weeks.

The only thing new about this deal is that they price of the 9 inch grinder was lowered from $111 to $74.99 since yesterday. The tool is one cent less than the $75 needed to get $50 back in points. You'll need a $1 tool filler.
carpenters pencil [sears.com]
tire pressure gauge [sears.com]. Both require pickup

$74.99 +0.99 + tax gets you the grinder, a pencil and $50 in points. The disadvantage with the basic deal is that the grinder will be shipped but not ship the pencil. You will have to go to pick it up. Other, more expensive fillers would be shipped free with the grinder.

Add-on #1 Get $15 more tools for $3
There's a coupon that makes the deal much better: $15 off $75. These are available in the Slickdeals coupon thread. These trade for around $3.
Using this coupon you'll need to choose $90 in tools. The coupon will lower it to $75 and you'll still get the $50 back in points. Choose filler tools that are indicated as included in the $50 back promotion. There are many tools that can act as the $15 filler that will be shipped to you.

Add-on #2 Discounted gift card.
You can save 8-9% of the full $75+tax price by buying a discounted gift card on Raise.com.
Go here first shopyourway [shopyourway.com] and Sears will give you 3% back on your Raise purchase (as SYW points)
The discount on the cards Sears and Kmart and the cards available changes with time. The $100 KMart card I bought today was 5.8% off.
(some people have had trouble in the past trying to make a partial or mixed payment using GCs. Get a $100 to be safe. There will be $17.50 left on the card to be spent later)

Ad-on#3 Some points roll. You can both spend points and earn points.
If the tools you choose cost more than $75, you can pay the difference with points. Only the pre-tax amount over $75 can be paid with points.

Say you choose a $25.01 filler to make your total $100. You could include the coupon and $10 worth of SWY points in your (discounted giftcard) payment.

$100 in tools
-$15 coupon
$85 subtotal
-$10 of SYW points
$75 remaining
+ tax on $75
$82.50 pay with 8% discounted giftcard

Again, SYW points are not the same as cash. They expire quickly and you need to spend them at Sears or KMart. Be sure you know what you're going to buy and that the price is what you were expecting to pay. Keep in mind that you can use another coupon when you use the points and that takes some of the sting out of prices that might otherwise seem high.

I included some math and a spreadsheet. There's trouble with it. Fix it for us if you care enough to.

So, 75 - 5% raise discount - 15 off 75 coupon + 3 paid for coupon... how that's equal to 20?

I understand how you feel. It's difficult to understand when you're functionally innumerate.

92% of 75, then subtract 50 = 19
92% of ((75+15)-15), then subtract 50 and add 3 = 22

It's complicated by
1) the need for a filler.
2) frequent reports of people having trouble splitting payment to include partial payment with a gift card. I never have that trouble, but some do.
3) the need for a coupon that needs to be gotten in a trade.
4) The Sears-Hater crew paid by stock manipulators to post their kill-sears rhetoric at every opportunity.
5) Trolls pretending that SYW points have no value.
6) Taxes and paying taxes with a discounted gift card.

Face it, it's a great deal. Add the $3 coupon, it's a hundred dollar tool + another $15 worth of tools for $22
Without the coupon or the gift-card 8% it's still a great deal.

I've rewritten the original post.

Well, mostly, but it's $50 points on $90 tools purchased for $72. And the tool has very high ratings and is around half the price they're selling for on eBay.

Sorry, I can't help with that. Having used the promotion, the website won't show it to me anymore.
Do you see the red promotion text below the grinders on this page [sears.com]? Most of the ones sold at Sears were marked. If they're not marked boldly in red, maybe the promotion ended. I saw somewhere in another thread that people had to be signed in to see the promotion. Maybe it's that. The filler has to be part of the promotion. Trythis router bit [sears.com].

WhoMeCheap? thanks for spelling the deal out so carefully and accurately.

Not surprising that it seems to be too complicated for many. Twitter would not even exist if most people had an attention span beyond 140 characters.

Good luck with the SYW points thing! They (SYW) now try to screw you over especially with the $50 points on $75 purchase! I never got my points for another purchase and then you gotta deal with someone in a call center in the Philippines which is useless as outside-the-US call centers just waist your time and get you nowhere! So I'm returning all the stuff I bought in the past month from Sears because of their faulty rewards program.

My points are on hold while we wait for my filler to be shipped to the store.

Actually, as long as they don't go under this weekend, it's a good thing. The points won't start expiring until I pick up the filler. That way I can combine those points with the $50 microwave and the $60 clothes

Had the same problem. My order is stuck on "Processing for Store Pickup" even though I picked up the item a week ago. Trying to deal with Sears is mind numbing, whether it's in-store, chat or emails. I can't get anyone to actually Answer the phone at the last remaining store in my area. Now I've got to drive 10 miles to get a refund.
The Sears deals were nice while they lasted but it's too much hassle nowadays.
