These things work pretty well. Great for working hard-to-get-to devices. Also great for Christmas decorations around the house.

These are not "smart" they are just remote activated.

Bought this before and love it. The only problem is that it takes up a lot of space on the plug. And one time I had to reset all of them because I had a problem where one button was linked to two switches. It just wouldn't go away until I just reset them all.

Get the Hook hub from Amazon with these to make them smart for Alexa, Google Home and IFTTT control. I recommend the Generation 2 hub. They just added sensor support, so you can now even use the spare Etekcity remote to control other smart home devices like Hue and Smartthings. I love when things talk to each other!

this seems like something a rich person would buy and then never use
In fact 5 outlets for 21 controlled by a manual re,more is a POOR MAN's style of a connected home. RICH have moved to Wifi run devices that are voice controlled either via Alexa/Google OR via mobile devices.

I have the 3 outlet set with the same 5 button remote. With that one, the fifth button [pair] is ALL OFF/ON. Can I do that with this set?

I had these for over a year before I moved onto wifi plugs. The only reason I really moved on was because my in laws lost my remote -_- Anyways these are pretty nice for the price. The plug is a little bulky though and can block the other plug from being used when used with some devices (depends on the plug they use). What I did with the remotes was used a 3M Command strip and stuck it to the wall at the top of the stairs and did the same king of thing with the other one in the garage. Doing it this way I could, control my lights (I had them all hooked up to lamps) as I entered my home or if I just forgot to turn off a light down stairs. A plus with this was I wouldn't lose my remotes but when my inlaws stayed over I thought I would just let them have one since they were staying down stairs and that was a mistake haha. Oh one other thing is that each of the plugs has a small button on the side so you can manually turn on and off the device plugged into it if needed.

I do not think you can. All the plugs are preprogrammed. Each plug is labeled with a number that lines up to a corresponding number on the remote. Each number has a on and off button which is why you see 10 buttons on the remote.

Actually, you can. You will need to reprogram each outlet to respond to the same button. They use that button to turn all of them on/off. To program any outlet, press and hold the side button until the LED begins to flash. Press the remote button. The LED will stop blinking indicating successful programming. Rinse and repeat for all the other outlets.
By the way, each outlet can save multiple codes, so you wont lose the individual control option.

Ah, thanks. I never knew that it was able to save multiple codes. Then that makes sense.
The 3 outlet set's remotes fifth button pair must come preprogrammed for all three outlets.
