Massdrop is a group buying site where the final price is determined by the number of purchases; you'll be charged when the drop ends (on Feb 17, 2018) for the lowest price point the drop has reached at that time.

After the drop ends, payment will be collected and the group's order will be submitted to the vendor up front, making all sales final. Check the discussion page for updates on your order.

You must click "Join Drop" in order to see the price and place your order.

It's been front page a few times at this price. One large negative for Massdrop is the group buy processing: "estimated ship date of Feb 28th"....

I've always gotten my products, but haven't had any run-ins with their post-purchase customer support. My problems have always been between joining the buy, and the product arriving. Across 14 orders, I've had 3 arrive late. The worst was 4 months delayed.

I have heard their post-purchase customer service is not good. No personal experience though. I would avoid this deal and just buy it from Beach Camera which has had this deal multiple times recently.

I've only had one experience trying to buy from Massdrop. The checkout process was completely borked. I tried giving them my money for a pair of headphones for 45 minutes and it never let me through. After that experience I haven't been back.

Haven't these TV's been cheaper recently from other reputable sources? Also, doesn't Massdrop make you wait a few weeks before they ship?

I've had great luck with massdrop. Most of mine have been early and their customer service has been EXCELLENT. I've been real impressed by massdrop , on my 6 orders so far.

Same model is on sale on ebay from firstclasstvs for the same price- and no messing around with crappy shipping from massdrop.

It has been even cheaper from Frys in store recently too.... (and I think Beach is still doing the C model for $50 more than this deal through the usual backdoor channels)

barring one-off open box deals it's not likely going to be that cheap up front- the first 2018s hit the store next month back at full MSRP and the supply of '17s will dry up.

You can get it for around $1500-1550 with price protection though (and have been able to for months at this point) and that's certainly as cheap as it's likely to ever be for a '17 model with PP, since the usual suspects tend to jack up '17 pricing once the 18s are available.

Per Quantum Apotheosis on Youtube this TV is highly overrated and he would recommend a Sony X900E for brighter HDR and real-true whites.
Isn't the 930 better?
