i7 is $100 more. These two seem like a better deal than the 128GB i5 from Rakuten earlier. 256GB is passable, any less than that is too small IMO.

I have this model, its top heavy so even on a desk if the screen is tilted too far back it kinda seesaw's on the hinge. The discrete gpu is pretty useless playing anything new and its not vr ready. The newer model could be worth waiting for if they fixed these daily hassles. Its my opinion but it being top heavy always leaves it feeling uncomfortable like it could fall over

(I know SB2 is out. I just haven't had the opportunity to see if anything is different. But i know its got a better gpu)

Price not valid. Was showing a "see price in cart" and even after adding to cart was still 1799. Now it doesn't even show the "see price in cart" thing.

You need to scroll down to More Buying Options. It's $899 from seller Digital&More.

Sounds like they MAY send you a refurb even though it says "New":

Review from buyer on Newegg:

Quick service, refurbished product 11/9/2017 6:54:06 AM
I recently bought a Microsoft Surface from this seller via a Flash deal. I've been a NewEgger for over 5 years.

PROS:
Seller shipped item very quickly.
Item was in good condition.

CONS:
There was no mention of a "refurbished" product on the listing -- which is what I suspected after looking at the packaging that it came in. I validated the suspicion by using some command line prompts to generate a battery report -- sure enough, the computer had been turned on months before I bought the product.

Would I buy again? Yes, but I would verify the product in writing before purchasing again.

I see the price is at $917 on Amazon for the i5. i7 seems to be at $1500 in Amazon.

Regardless, do you think this is a good buy for a Surface Book 1? Been waiting forever to upgrade my laptop, I'm on a Samsung laptops for 2013 that I got off of here for $600... I'm dying to upgrade.
