This has audio input via rca connector that you could attach a microphone.

Hi Hemi,

It will depend on the camera, Lorex and Q-see sell numerous camera models, some may have additional connectors.

This look amazing, but I need something to shove on the 2nd story and the HD / 2-3MP camera's were horrible. Also, the domes were so prone to getting dirty (~4-6 year old HKs). It seems unlikely that any type of coating is being put on the glass to reduce this?

So, I see reviews showing you can see a sharp leaf at 30', but how is the IR and filtering?

Thanks!

Hi Duijver,

I would try whatever you can to keep the cameras lower if you want to use them to potentially ID suspects. Best chances of getting a good facial ID image is 8 feet or lower.

Also with domes - they can be problematic outdoors as you point out, especially due to internal IR light reflecting off the dome into the camera's lens and longer term issues with UV exposure.

Thus, imho I think if you plan to put it outside, a nice covered porch area which is lighted at night works well.

Thanks! I dumped all of my domes due to the issues I had plus the IR reflecting issues - and a few others.

I'm not as worried about the ID as much as the intention. The dozens of indoor camera's cover that problem. I am not interested in protecting my car.. they might be doing me a favor. LMAO

Check out the 3rd or 4th review - you can see how bad the dome photos often get with IR getting stuck behind the glass.

Also the Reolink is IP66 vs IP67 (if you care).

Nice cam in daytime, useless at night

FYI - the folks at ipcamtalk really do not like reolink for a number of reasons.

Here's my notes w/regards to it: ( from the wiki https://slickdeals.net/f/10409612-lorex-dahua-oem-6x-4k-8mp-security-camera-system-w-8-port-poe-ip-nvr-2tb-hdd-kit-at-costco-b-m-ymmv-for-799-99 )

How does this compare to Reolink...
Numerous members of ipcamtalk have a very negative opinion of this brand due to poor compatibility of their cameras and nvrs to standards ( example iframe issues causing trouble with Blue Iris ), as well as deceptive and spamming practices which their employees have done on that forum, and a number of planted reviews on Amazon by Reolink. Dahua OEM and Hikvision OEM equipment is clearly preferred by numerous members over Reolink.

I have 3 Reolink cameras. I find them to be excellent. One is dome, which I use outside. Great during the day and at night. The other 2 are inside. Support has been outstanding. I have a few other cameras as well, but will likely get more Reolink.

The only downside I see is sensor size.

Hi High

Amcrest page on this:
https://amcrest.com/amcrest-ultra...493ew.html

I didn't see a link to a data sheet on this. Being that 4K streams take significant processing power to encode into H.264/H.265 most security cameras I have seen are able to do so at max 15 fps or 20 fps. A great fps will require more power, and thus the cameras would cost more. Probably will see great fps in the future as new lower power processing chips are made for security cameras.

You should be able to run it at greater fps at lower res if you really need more fps.

In most cases 15 fps works well in a security camera setup.
