Driving into the paint on offense in NBA Live feels much more natural than 2K.

Alongside this, the career mode and progression is more fleshed out in NBA Live -- completing objectives to progress traits and a universal leveling system that lets you gain EXP via multiplayer, streets PvE/PvP, or just PvE NBA League play is amazing.

I'm a fan -- hope NBA Live 19 sees some more ProAM play and a more fleshed out career mode. Those text messages get annoying, and having to complete objectives that aren't natural to your character (why do I get a goal to shoot 3 pointers when I'm a driving/interior bruising Small Forward) are in.

A steal at $4.50 - I love the gameplay of this and the soundtrack really appeals to me. It's more arcade than 2K, but dribbling, driving into the paint, and defensive play in this game are unparalleled.

The career mode has no micro transactions attached, everything is unlocked via progression and boxes obtained by completing objectives, winning, and ingame currency. I hope they continue to progress this game with a 2019 version - this is a great start. The EA team that's crafting this listens to the community and updates the game with features, roster editing wasn't initially in the game and they added It, amongst other features.

Total no-brainer here folks, assuming:

1) you have PS+ and
2) have even the most remote, casual interest in the sport of basketball

I prefer it to 2K in a lot of ways. If it wasn't for 2K having the classic teams and the hack to play as NCAA teams, I would only play Live for my basketball fix.

Been having a lot of fun with create your own player / league mode. Definitely worth the price if you're interested in picking up a basketball game.

Get it. It's good. Way less complex than 2k (control wise).

*I was surprised by today's roster update. They actually update players cosmetically. Ball got a haircut and they cut down Kyrie's beard. You'd have to wait for the next 2k for those changes

So it sounds like it's much more forgiving and noob friendly than the 2k games. I'm kinda on the fence though someone convince. I just haven't been able to get into any other sports games since I have found them too technical.

I mean, you said that you have found other games too technical and that you've heard this one is a little more forgiving (which I can attest to), so I say go for it. Seriously, it's less than FIVE DOLLARS. If getting a current game by the all-star break for that price can't get you to pull the trigger than nothing will unless you like other sports way more than basketball.
