I've had 2 pairs of Columbia boots for my last 2 hikers. I hike 30-45 miles/week and both boots claimed to be waterproof but neither were. I used a WP spray by kiwi to actually waterproof them.
I'm considering a class action against Columbia for the false advertising of their waterproof boots. They should only claim "water resistant".

I have one of the jackets with the Omnitex fabric. While it's water resistant it is far, far from breathable.

I also have some of their "waterproof" boots. I would recommend not walking through damp grass in them as your feet will be soaked,

Apart from those flaws I actually quite like them.

So it's not waterproof at all?

My wife and I both bought Columbia hiking shoes. Both of us hate them, they are uncomfortable, I feel every sharp rock I step on. We're cheap so we have to wear then till they are dead, but we will both be happy when we can chuck em

4.4 stars and over 1k reviews. In for a pair of Newtons. Hope these are almost as good as my Columbia jacket I've had over 10 years.

Is the Bugaboot II any good? Basically looking for a shoveling snow/yard work boot.

I have a pair of Newton Ridge Plus II boots that I hiked about 100 miles in last summer. I went through plenty of streams and can say they have been 100% waterproof and the souls were plenty comfortable for my day hikes.

On a negative, the boots are EXTREMELY hot. I will likely consider something else in the future for summer hikes because of this. They're great in the winter, though.

I have a pair of the original boots which I got from a deal on SD for around the same price. Done a ton of hikes in them from Yosemite to Sapa Mountains in Vietnam and have not had any issues with water or discomfort... for 44 I think it is a great value and would recommend

I am in Iceland right now with them actually.

I dunno about the bugaboot ll but I use the bugaboot plus lll for Tactical work and they're great. Just had a callout where I was in 3 feet of snow for a few hours and they were waterproof and warm. Got em from amazon

I LOVED Columbia for many years, but the most recent one I bought about 2 years ago that I wore only in the winter snow, the other day I stepped in a puddle no deeper than 2 inches, and my feet were wet.

Does Columbia stand behind their product because I seriously still love their shoes and boots, they are comfortable, stylish (for the most part) and they work well.

I see something that looks like a canoo, I don't see a boot in that picture, can you explain. It's only half of the boot.

laugh out loud
