Looks great but can't find any review on this speaker. How does it compare to lsr308?

How is this front page?! Doesnt seem like anyone on the net even knows if these are any good. There doesnt seem to be actual customer reviews anywhere.

In case it wasn't clear, this is a loudspeaker and only one unit is included.

Read: Large, requires special equipment and 2x the cost to make these computer speakers.

Special equipment isn't required, they have a built in amp. You just need 2 of them and a standard 3.5mm to rca audio cable. Oh and a lot of desk space!

It is really intended to be used with the XLR port instead of splitting via RCA... although I guess you could do that... still doesn't solve the problem of two different power in and volumes.

Gist of it is... don't buy this with the assumption that they would make good pc/multimedia speakers lol

Thanks for the clarification. It is 1 speaker. Reading description it is powered, so amp isn't needed

Could you use RCA to XLR adapters and use PC as preamp?

You could but this is starting to sound like many SD threads where basically everyone wants to use a very specialized product for generic purposes. If you have a need for spread out loud speakers and already have preamp outputs available then by all means.

If you are looking for PC/multimedia speakers, there are much better options.

Yes no amp needed. Ideally you'd have XLR outputs for this though

Man, really tempting. Big amplified speaker at what seems to be a really good price. But as others have noted, lack of any reviews online. The amp sections at the least are probably really nice given Denon reputation. But I got in on so many great SD deals today. Just don't think I need/want this as much as I should... But...

Apparently these are the same as the M-Audio BX8 D2 speakers, which sell for $500/pair. Check the rear pics of both the Denon and M-Audio speakers and they're almost identical. Found this on a thread from an AV forum based in the UK.

https://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-BX...B005F3H6MC

https://forums.audioholics.com/fo...iew.94121/

Specs from respective sites are nearly identical as well:

Well these are reference monitors. I don't they're meant to be used as everyday speakers. They're for mixing audio.

I have some computer speakers for listening to videos and the like on my desktop and I use my monitors when I'm recording.
