Would like to see a comparison of this and the Aputure M9.

I have this!! it's awesome. I put it on a light stand during shoots for extra light in dark spaces! I still use my flashlights for lighting, but this guy helped speed up my cameras auto focus, and cut down my workflow time by about 20 seconds a client. Which is priceless when you are shooting 45 players and trying to keep it under an hour!

I also bought it during the holiday sale when it was around $22.

I love the compact size of this and the fact that it charges via MicroUSB While most portable LED Solutions have a huge Sony battery that you have to carry along. It's a genius product however I do think that there can be a little bit more overall mass and size for this. I would say that this would help more for a fully-fledged digital camera then a cell phone. I tried taking some video with this in a dark studio and maybe I was expecting a little bit too much. But to be fair I didn't have my flagship phone that I plan to originally use this product with but for camera with a decent sensor this could be really cool because you can mount it on top of the camera and then use another LED for light bounce

I don't know I just expected a little bit more performance. If you're trying to use this to shoot video I would still look for an additional light solution for things like light bounce and getting rid of any additional Shadows just to be safe but for Flash photography I think it just might be fine .

This is a great example where the price is so close to the company/innovator they shamelessly ripped off, that you just ought to buy the original at higher quality + better support + exact same feature set (minus a stupid smartphone bracket):

If you're too cheap to spend a small few bucks avoiding the knock-off, then you suck.

Thank you for the feedback, couple questions.
Does the light work while its being charged?
Can it also be used as a portable charger?

I couldn't get a lumens conversion based off of their lux numbers in the specs. the 2 numbers aren't adding up. I got 4050 lumens at 1 meter, and 2124 lumens at .5 meter. Seems way too high and doesn't match.

DUDE!!! The light you linked is a knockoff/rip-off of the Aladdin EYE-LITE Bi-Color Dimmable Mini [bhphotovideo.com] Light Fixture (3000 to 6000K) which sells for $150+ all day everyday. Your comment and theory make no sense! Confused

They seem to be very similar, 12 LEDs vs 9 LEDs.

Found this video which compares the 2 side by side:

Moronic. Of course they're dramatically different, and the Aputure has been out for a long time. We're talking about this GVB thing that came after the Aputure and is way, way more similar.
