These motherboards work with 8th gen intel processors. So that's good.

Still even with GPU craze I can buy a new GTX 1060 and the 370M motherboard cheaper than this 550 price, straight from Newegg.

Still too expensive. If at least they would have shipped right now, it could be a deal for someone who can't find any cards easily, but otherwise - no.

It comes out to $1030 for the 1080 Ti and base motherboard. The Z370M Gaming motherboard sells for $170, if you value the board at that price it effectively makes the 1080 Ti $̶9̶6̶0̶ $860... not g̶r̶e̶a̶t̶ bad.
