I think Carnival's Mexico cruise goes for about $200. Is Princess that much better?

Pretty subjective, but it really depends on what you are looking for. Fairly consistently you are going to see brands like Celebrity and Royal Caribbean at the top of the list for just overall experience. If you are looking for specific specialties like better food or better rooms or more family friendly cruises, things change a bit. In terms of kid friendly cruises, Carnival is up there, but otherwise I think they are out paced by many other cruise lines. Pretty sure Princess is more well known for their Alaska cruises and on board dining/entertainment.

I use https://www.cruisecritic.com/ for any reviews or experience that are not my own. I have only been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises myself.
