Walmart has several types of Auto Drive Car Stereo Speaker Wire [walmart.com] on sale:

14ga 50' for $3.17 [walmart.com] Brickseek. [brickseek.com]
16ga 50' for $2.01 [walmart.com] Brickseek. [brickseek.com]
18ga 100' for $2.55 [walmart.com] Brickseek. [brickseek.com]

Select free store pickup, otherwise shipping is free w/ orders $35+.

In store prices are a lot higher around me: 14ga and 18a are $12.97, while 16ga is $10.97. I was able to do online order at lower price with store pickup.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Speaker wire is doubled up.

However, this is CCA, which is junk. I would never use this garbage.

FYI-
This is a good deal if you can't afford real copper.

Under specs.
"Constructed with grade CCA wire"
which translates into Copper Coated Aluminum wire

Best source that I've found is monoprice especially when "free" shipping is available

Is this wire doubled up, like 2 wires stuck together (positive and ground) or is it just single stranded?

Brickseek is misleading on this one. I found only the 14ga discounted on there in only one store. However, when I went to Walmart online to check it was the price listed above, while brickseek had it a $1. But I did buy some from the further store with free in store pickup at a local Walmart.

Would it be good for electrical work in the car, like lighting? If so, what guage should I get?

remember this would make fine home theater speaker wire as well. and in regards to cca. Just google it. Its more that fine for 99% of people. I would say its more important to use the proper guage for the proper length/load.

Edit, did it myself. Heres a quote

"In summary, it is not a hard and fast rule to avoid CCA speaker wire. Other than the well established resistance difference, there is no other significant change in wire performance for audio applications. Therefore, as long as the user is careful about the length of wire used, CCA will not result in any noticeable degradation in the overall sound. All three of the CCA wires looked at in this article performed well, though if I were to recommend one"

Nice find, OP!

I bought a few rolls of the 16ga and 18ga. I may have some line arrays to wire up in the future, so I'll need a LOT of wire.

This will be fine for almost every application. I once ran a test and set up one home theater system with extremely expensive Monster Cable speaker wire using their gold plated speaker wire ends and another system with the cheapest 18 gauge crap wire that came free with a home theater in a box system. I took the 18 gauge wire and stripped it down to just one strand of wire and connected that into the speakers. NOBODY could tell a difference in sound.
