I just bought this for $4.99 for one pack this past weekend. Now it's 3 for $10.

Good all around guitar strings with good tones.

Update edit- credit to superman89:
Other 3 packs are on sale as well, not just the regular:

Solid deal. I bought 3 of the packs to qualify for free shipping, otherwise it was $5.

FYI - They run this sale on a regular basis maybe every 2-3 months. Good price but don't panic if you don't need any in the near future. Also black friday they did 12 sets for $30, so if you can hold out that's worth waiting for.

For your case go with strings that are easier to bend for tender beginner fingers, like 9-42 (i.e. Super Slinky).

Once you build up that thick skin and gain finger strength, then you could would to a different gauge. But you can stick to 9-42s for your entire playing career, like a legion of famous pro guitarists throughout time have done!

string choice depends on your guitar more than your style and what it is set up for. guitars have to be regularly adjusted through out the year as they adjust to climate changes.

Mine is the SGR, like a Fender Strat. I'm a beginner but want to play heavy metal!!! Any suggestions?

Nice Find! Always appreciate a good Ernie Ball deal...Would love a deal on the Hybrid Slinky Bass Strings, but those days seem long gone. Nothing like paying $20 a week to stay fresh while steady gigging.
