For those looking to game on the integrated Vega GPU (which is quite a bit better than integrated intel graphics IIRC), this laptop is single channel RAM only, which gimps the GPU significantly.

Integrated graphics vs a mid-high end dedicated card isn't a fair comparison. That's not even the same ballpark. Heck, the 1050 is currently retailing for $150+ on its own. Lets be reasonable about expectations here.

This is a 2500u processor, most likely a laptop variant of the new 2400g which was just released for $169 retail. Benchmarks out there show the 2400g on par or slightly better than an i5 with a GT 1030 [anandtech.com]. I would assume this processor would be similar.

If we were to do a rough parts estimate:
2400g processor - $170
Motherboard - $100
256gb SSD - $100
8GB RAM - $70
= $440

Now put that into 13" laptop form factor with screen, backlit keyboard, 1030 class graphics (retailing $85 currently), windows 10, labor, etc for $110 (about the cost of chromebooks/atom laptops at slickdeals prices) to get a final price of $550? Not bad at all.

This is the part I'd be more concerned about. But it seems this laptop is probably geared toward productivity not gaming. Shame it can't be upgraded, would be amazing if it could.

Edit: Looks like the intel variant of this laptop came with an MX150. Benchmarks show the MX150 to be a laptop variant of the 1030GT [notebookcheck.net], though its performance is about 11% less (fair - it's not a desktop variant). That may help reduce the effect of how much the single shared ram would negatively affect gaming against an intel + MX150 variant.

Wow nice deals, far better price and performance compare to the dell xps 13 9360 line up. Ryzen 5 laptop CPU performances between Intel 8th Gen i5 and i7 laptop CPU . Next, intergated AMD APU Graphics card beat the Intel intergated graphic card by many FPS in most games. Also, battery life performance it about the same as Intel. Also, my 2 cents; search Google for some Lenovo cashback (8%) website and that should help keeping the price at $620.

This makes me feel a little better about just purchasing an 8250u equipped laptop, but I wonder what the real world/gaming fps impact this has (vs a dual channel one)? And is there any comparison between this specifically configured Vega 8m vs the 620?
