I have spectrum at my home and on the first floor is where I have my spectrum wireless router and modem (all in one) , on the second floor is where I have several channel boxes, question. Would I be able to but a y splitter and split the coaxial cable and connect this modem and router and be able to connect devices via Ethernet? Would having two modems work?

Long answer short. No. Internet doesn't work like that. If your trying for better coverage or equal speeds across the house, then the proper router is required. May I sugest a "mesh" network.

I have the CM500 and it works great on optimum. No complaints in 8 months since I got it. You can find it on sale from $25 (clearance aisle at walmart).

So the question is is the router worth $55-$75? Just saying.

Solid deal. I paid $125 for this bundle back in August. It's been nearly flawless. Finally gave Comcrap their equipment back!

I bought this setup on Black Friday of 2016 and in my opinion it's great but I don't believe there is a custom firmware for this model. I maybe wrong because I have not looked into it that much so someone please correct me if I am. Anyways the modem has already payed for itself in modem fees.

Just received mine today. 3 hours of trying to set it up and still not working. Spectrum is telling me it's the routers fault. Don't know what to believe =\. Modem is fine straight to computer. Going to router and no signal comes through both wirelessly and through a port
