Ugly PCs need loving too.

...and speaking of rebates, fair warning that Newegg rebates have been taking a looooong time to go through lately. I have several outstanding and they're all coming. Eventually.

if all you need is a box to hold a pc in and going super cheap on a case lets you buy more/better ram or move up a tier in gpu? do it. moving a setup into a new case later is easy to do.

havnt used either, but eyeballing specs the diypc is the better option as it has a removable drive cage which will make stashing extra power supply cables easy and depending on your storage needs can allow a longer gpu. just be mindful that you only have 140mm for the cpu cooler, probably going to want to stay stock.

for mom or dad this is totally fine as a long term case, for a gamer/graphic designer/etc i'd use it as a stopgap until a case you want is affordable or is released.

i should add, if you can afford 50ish the s340 is a better value but not a slickdeal, the 340 elite is more expensive but is a nice refresh of it and the define c/meshify c are quality but 80ish. for a 3-4 year case i'd recommend one of those.

I have that Rosewill case. It's tight and there really isn't good airflow in from the front due to lack of vents. Included fans are weak also. It might be worth the $10 but not dealing with the rebate.

Yeah they are pretty backed up from the Black Friday/Christmas Rebates, half of mine finally got sent out ~2 weeks ago that were form black-friday sales.

Rebates = Cash Loan .... Rebates need to be regulated. 30 days max from application date. Newegg is terrible with rebates. Last one i did their rebate site my town did not come up gave me the wrong town for my zip code. NEVER again with Newegg rebates, not loaning them any more of my money.Read the fine print, it's ridiculous. Most companies have gone away from rebates. Price needs to be the price.

Recently it seems newegg changed their rebate provider (for lack of a better word) and it is taking about double the amount of time from whoever used to do the processing before.

To be fair, I am getting the rebates but instead of the typical 6-8 weeks, I still have rebates that just got approved to be sent out form an order in November of 2017.

Tell me about it. My $20 PowerColor RX 560 rebate from ending November 2017 finally got ordered. Still have to wait for an email when it is finally sent out.

why do these have what looks like drive mounts in the lower front but they're not? It has fan mounts for that space but what is the fan cooling?
