Chicco or bust! Smilie

As a somewhat snob before our first baby, I looked at all the high-end stroller/travel systems and I was willing to spend up to $1k, but reading more and more, I find the safest thing to get was tried and true by millions of satisfied customers and something without lots of recalls, as well as idiot-proof installation. There are things I'm willing to go name-brand for the sake of premium name-brand, but when it comes to baby safety, I still went with the "Honda and Toyota" of the baby stroller/carseat brands Smilie

Purchase Tip: If you can wait until next November, I recommend getting the Uppababy stroller during Black Friday and stacking Amazon's baby registry completion discount. You can get 35-40% off the retail price, which IMO is very reasonable.

Edit: Looks like Amazon is price matching, so if you can stack the completion discount you'll be gold.

My Opinion on the Stroller: Obviously a stroller is a stroller. Their main function is to carry your child, and cheaper strollers will accomplish this goal. Here's my personal opinion on why I preferred the Uppababy stroller:

1. Every high usage part is easily removable and replaceable: Wheels break? Pop it out with one button and replace it. Uppababy has great customer service, so they may give you the replacements for free.

2. The ride is luxurious: The Uppababy Vista stroller is heavier than some of its competitors, but the ride is great on cruddy sidewalks and dirt paths.

3. Popping car seat in and out is super easy: No adapters are necessary. Also the hooks(?) just line up more easily than some of the other competitors.

4. No noisy Velcro: Especially on the window flap for the stroller chair, which uses a magnet instead of Velcro. Less chances of waking up the baby to take a peek at him.

5. Everything is removable and cleanable: While this is a luxury stroller, none of the parts feel flimsy or delicate like designer clothing. All cloth parts feel heavy-duty and hose-able (in other words, think Filson rather than D&G).

6.The ride along attachment is cool: I can't wait to try it when we have our second child.

7. American-designed: If you care about this type of thing, then this will be another plus for you.

With all the pros above said, you don't need a stroller at this price. There are cheaper strollers. Also, if you are looking for a lighter and more compact stroller, I would also recommend not going with the Uppababy, particularly if you live in a metro with small sidewalks, doorways and lots of staircases. For example, I can't imagine using an Uppababy Vista in metro NYC.

If you are in a nasty car crash then yes, your baby has beter chances of surviving in this vs graco/chicco

Thats is why, each year they are doing multiple crash test, uppababy is usually rated as one of the safest, with cybex, nuna and other "high end" brands

Plus, the bassinet is included - thats a big deal. Most parents are to lazy or to ignorant to even bother. They will use a car seat for car rides, walks or even sleeping.
Look it up- babies should not be in a car seat for more than 1.5h a day!!!
Thats why bassnets are the most important part of the strollers all over the world.
Maybe for most gracco is good enough, but for me my baby spine and safety is worth coulple $$$ more

I purchased it a month ago from Amazon. Does amazon price match to the current price?

I upgraded to the Vista from a Chicco Bravo LE with a Keyfit30 and I'm pretty glad that I did. It rolls so smoothly and I love being able to turn the seat around so that I can interact with my daughter while she's riding.

We did have an issue with one of the front wheel locks, but I called Uppababy and they sent a new frame which arrived in 2 days. Customer service is excellent.

I regret not going with the Vista sooner. My daughter was already too big to use the bassinet, but it would have come in very handy in the early months.

FYI - We purchased the 2016 Cruz for $320 with a coupon. Found a brand new bassinet on Craigslist for $50. Now rocking the Cruz + bassinet. Bassinet has been pretty key for for us. I assume it will work until 9months or so. Perfect for naps.

It's a pain, but you're saving $162. Plus if you create the baby registry as newSEAdad mentioned, that's an additional 15% you'll get back from amazon.
original price = 840 - 168 = 672 - 15% = $572 for the whole set. Very slick deal considering the brand. Applause

Can you please let me know where you purchased and what coupon? Thanks.
