Rokinon lenses are some of the best glass you can buy for lowest $. If you don't know how to focus manual but are willing to learn, this is peace of cake. Very nice for video bloggers as well. Now they have started to introduce a few AF as well but I am for the original manuals all the time (Possibly will last for ever). You will be amazed by the quality you get out of these lenses, sharpness and contrast that only Zeiss or that category lenses can provide. Irrespective of price, go for them, when the need may be.

I use this lens as my daily carry on my a7sii. It's a great lens for the price and size. Only drawback I have with it is the motor noise during focus and slightly slower focus speed than Sony autofocus lenses. At the price it's a great buy if you do lots of portraits and anything needing a 35mm

Given that these are rather slow for being primes, I'm guessing that the draw is the IQ and relatively low cost?

It's pretty hard to get much faster at this focal length without adding a lot of glass.

See the cost difference going to f2.4, and better yet, check out the new sigma 14mm f/1.8

The draw is the performance for the cost

The Rokinon 35mm has AF in the title--how could you possibly think that it's manual focus only? LMAO

Maybe because many of the links in the original post go to lenses that are manual focus?

This one for instance, Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED MC Super Wide Angle, Manual Focus Lens for Micro Four Thirds System (Olympus Panasonic & Kodak Compact System Cameras)

He was responding to someone requesting a lens comparison to the sel35f18. I'd imagine that they'd want a direct comparison to the Rokinon 35mm because it has the same focal length. There are literally only two lenses listed--the Rokinon 35mm and 14mm (mount variants irrelevant). It would be difficult to argue that anyone would expect to compare the sel35f18 to the Rokinon 14mm. That'd be just plain silly.
