How does this compare size wise and functionality wise compared to the Dell e525w? Seems like the 525 can be had for roughly $130 so is this worth the $70 more?

I currently have the 525 model which is 2 1/2 years old and seems to be on its last legs as it's making a terrible grinding noise. I have been pleased with the 525 except for the non duplex printing. I picked it up for $99 so 2 1/2 years and roughly 13k prints seems ok to me.

2825 and 825 can take larger toners.

I just got this from the last SD deal so I Don't have too much usage with this printer.

To your question of size, this printer is HUGE when compared to other personal printers. I saw the specs when I ordered it but didn't fully realize the footprint and height of this printer. I have a Brother mfc-8290 (all in one b/w laser) and this Dell dwarfs that printer in size. I would consider it more of a printer for a small business.

Just for reference, when this was delivered, the box was on a palette by itself!

Setup of this printer was easy with the supplied CD (I'm all in win7). Warm up and printing are a tad bit loud. Since I don't print that often, it isn't much of a con for me. All the other features of this printer made it worth the extra cost for me.

i also saw this deal, but for 200 i expect at least wireless connectivity. I understand a ethernet to router connection would work, but it seems like an inconvenience.

Reviews on another site talk about running a cat 5/6 cable from your router into this printer and they're printing from any wireless device connected to that router. Not an ideal solution for everyone, but it will work for some. Plus, that wired connection is typically much more reliable than most printer WiFi connections.

Got this in the last round. It might not be the cheapest ever but it's still a $500 printer for $200! And it does a fantastic job. Easiest setup ever. I plugged it into my router and my computer's set themselves up for printing, scanning, everything. Log into the printer via webpage to check out any details you could want to know including toner levels, etc. And I even printed from my phone. The quality is so much nicer than I hoped for, it just makes even normal prints look better. Very very happy.
