Target is offering the digital download of Super Mario Odyssey for $48.99 + tax

Red Card holders save an additional 5% bringing the price down to $46.54 + tax.

The digital downloads almost never go on sale, so this is a great deal for folks who don't like toting around physical media to play on a portable console.

I thought about trading in my physical version and getting this. Can I still redeem Nintendo points for a digital purchase that isn't directly from that eshop?

I'd bet a month's wages that would never work.

Less with GCU at Best Buy, and you get a physical copy you can sell back when done. This make it even less. Especially since Mario games trade in at a high price much of the time. Digital, unfortunately, does not make as much sense on the Switch as the other consoles since the storage is more expensive, and less in size when you do get it. Only a good deal if you must have digital, but you will be spending more in the long run.

Can anyone please answer my serious question? DO I really need to get an SD card if I'm ONLY gonna play Mario Oddessey on the Switch? ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•. Not interested in any other game at this point.

i use to think that way too. i always wanted a hard disc, so i could get some money out of it in the future. i liked the idea of having something physical for my money. and i liked not having to take up HDD space.

but,

1, some systems, make you install the full games anyways. meaning now you have to put in the disc just to play even though the whole game its sitting on the HDD.

2, with the nintendo, i would rather have all games on the internal and a 1 large SD card. so i dont have to worry about swapping cartridges. i do have zelda on cartridge. but i figure that will be the only physical game i will buy, so it will just stay in there.

3. i end up keeping games so long i never get any real money out of selling them

4. its only with the great games, but its nice to revisit them years later, and to be able to redownload the game/extras/dlc. for example, it was nice to play RDR again on my ONE, years later.

The game is about 5GB so with the standard 32GB you should be ok.

only thing that kills this, is the tax. you shouldn't be charged tax for digital items.
