Is this good compared to the TCL p607? I was looking on the BJs site and there is a lot of contradictory stuff between the description and specifications: "HDR and Dolby Vision" vs "No HDR" or "120hz" vs "60hz".

Maybe the fact that I was unable to find any reputable solid reviews for this model online speaks for itself.

From the manual: UHD (Ultra HD) (3840 x 2160 pixels 60Hz). Only Dolby Vision, no HDR support.

It would be nice if some of these Legacy brands had some legit reviews. Phillips, Sharp, Toshiba.... Obviously none of those Company's make their own TV's anymore but since they are still legit Company's in other product fields I wonder if they have any control over the quality of the products that have their name stamped on them?

I don't think you understood it correctly.
Dolby Vision is a HDR standard only and better than HDR 10 found in common 4k tvs. All the major streaming services including Netflix and Prime Video support it.

That's what I meant - HDR10

On the side note, this TV is available at Costco for $400: additional warranty, 90 days return, etc...

The link says $529.99, not $365.

Of course it does HDR10. I've never heard of a Dolby Vision HDR tv that didn't.

Bought one of these from Costco for aunt when it was $350 and set it up in her new apartment. The image quality is actually pretty good. It has decent uniformity and no excessive blacklight bleed. Built in speakers are not the worst I have heard.

You have to manually turn on hdr mode for every hdmi 2.0 input as I remember only one hdmi was defaulted to accept hdr signal input. I confirmed hdr10 compatibility on all hdmi ports using my ps4 and horizon zero dawn. I had no way to check dolby vision yet as the UP970 dolby vision firmware still not released.

The biggest drawback to this tv is the sluggish menu, channel change, and apps. No idea on reliability, but it is great features for the price.

I can confirm what he says. Got it from Costco for $360 and I am very satisfied. HDR works and a very decent panel. Apps are a let down.

Question: When streaming back 4K content from the Youtube 4K channel, do you see any pixelation issues when the scenes are in a countryside setting? There is a 4K clip by a Mavic drone on Ireland countryside. See if you can detect any pixelation?

BTW, your UP970 should have the Dolby Vision update. It was re-released just this month. Some people have issues getting it but once they fiddled with the region settings (I don't know why some have issues) they were able to receive it. Just google it now.

Not to go off-topic, but one thing tho, me and a few others have experienced lip-sync issues with DV movies. You may have to perform a manual tweak in your receiver to deal with this audio delay over hdmi.

Reps for the heads up on UP970 firmware. Since the UP970 and TV were for my aunt, I won't be able to check on the 4k pixelation.
