I don't think you'll need to cancel for any reason but it's always good to know you can if needed. I've used Private Internet Access at home and while traveling. The service is fast and reliable. With servers in strategic locations.
You can read my PIA VPN review to learn more about the service. I'll give you a quick summary. PIA VPN manages a network of VPN servers in several countries. They offer free client software for Windows and Mac. Along with a nice mobile app for Android users. Connect with OpenVPN, PPTP or L2TP. Best of all you can connect on up to five devices at a time. Making PIA VPN a great value.

US based. I would go anywhere near this if you live in US and plan on torrenting

You've been told a lie by European based VPNs.

No lie. Just common sense. How hard would it be for US law enforcement to get a warrant for US company? Not hard.

How about said law enforcement agency using warrant to get IP address and identify info? Not very hard.

Now how hard would it be for a US agency to get a foreign company, whose country of residence, is not very friendly with US?

Common sense my dear watson

PIA already received an FBI warrant, guess what they turned over....absolutely nothing becuase they have nothing to turn over. You have no additional protection using non US VPN. The common sense approach is to use an anonymous payment and throwaway email when signing up. If you're doing something nafarious then stick to Tor and Darknet, otherwise any old VPN is fine for torrents and avoiding DMCA notices.

Good for them. Do a google search of ppl getting infringement letters for torrenting. Enough results come back to be Leary of PIA.

To each their own. I'd go with a company based in another country that is not friendly with US. But hey...you keep believing that US federal law enforcement agencies are powerless to get what they want.

You should try PureVPN. They are not in the US and not part of Five Eyes or Fouteen Eyes.

VPN providers aren't members of the 5 / 14 Eyes. Countries are. Just saying.
