No, you're definitely in the right - the HF meter is honestly way better than the CM meter.

The CM meter's display is easier to read than the free HF meter. Who cares? Just buy better glasses. Wait, this is Slickdeals - just squint!

The CM meter does have a continuity beeper, which you might think is a plus (especially when the HF meter's illegible display is pointing away from you, because its light weight makes it unable to stay still), BUT, this so-called "feature" is actually just Craftsman's way of saying F* YOU to deaf people. I see no reason to encourage Sears' discriminatory behavior.

The CM meter's leads don't tangle up as much as the free HF meter's leads. This just deprives people of a chance to get a little exercise into their routine, as they desperately try to untangle the flimsy pieces of sh*t before ultimately breaking them and needing to take a jog down to their local HF to get a replacement. No wonder so many Americans are overweight.

The CM meter's leads are much more durable than the free HF meter. This might seem like a benefit, but it's not. The HF meter gives American youth a headstart in a STEM field when they wonder why the leads spontaneously split and fell apart merely because it was a cold day, thus inevitably leading them down a path to studying Materials Science.

The CM meter has a much more durable construction, BUT, the HF meter weighs so little, that even when a light breeze sends it falling to the floor, it won't actually sustain damage due to its lack of mass. Let's call this one a draw.

The CM meter has a kickstand to help you read the display. But this is actually not so helpful, because the CM meter's display is ALREADY easier to read! Therefore the HF meter is superior! Checkmate, Craftsman fanboys!

The CM meter does have an auto shutoff to save battery, but the HF meter is free. Why replace your battery when you can replace your entire meter? What a pointless feature.

With all these facts in mind, I don't see how any sensible person could choose to waste their money on the Craftsman meter.

I own this. Good little multimeter. It can be a little annoying to change the batteries, but that doesn't happen to often.

Been waiting for the price to drop back down to $9.99 again. I blew up my last multimeter (don't ask, I'm not good with electricity) so I needed a new unit. Thanks! laugh out loud

Same, it's so rundown and depressing inside their stores.

Yep. It always smell like a combination of tires and a run down nursing home.

Damn, that's a pretty nice multimeter, too bad there isn't a Sears near me. I've never been in one, but I have a K Mart near them, and since they're owned by the same company, I assume being in one is just as depressing as being in a K Mart.

Also, the K Mart near me is closing down in April. I'm surprised it was still open all this time, buying something there was a nightmare, as there always like one register open, and a giant line.

Is Sears really that bad across the United States? Where I live, I'm in and out in five minutes.
