The monitor is lightweight, attaches atop your camera and comes with a Canon E6 battery plate, which is optionally interchangeable for a different plate. This is a great tool for precision shooting, whether in videography or filmmaking.

Good lord is there a lot of ignorance being displayed here....if you think this is a bad deal then help us all out and post a cheaper alternative so we can give you a rep...

Just because the features of this item do not apply perfectly to your use case doesn't mean they don't for someone else...

This device is meant for photographers or videographers who want something a bit bigger than the display that is built into their camera. It has other features like focus peaking and false color to help make sure they compose the shot correctly. It also has a basic sunhood for use outdoors to help you see the screen outside during daytime. The E6 battery mount means that it will use the same batteries as the Canon 5D Mark II, III, IV, or 6D Mark I, II cameras.

This is an on-camera production monitor intended to help when filming. This is not to be used in a car when driving. That said, you can absolutely manually change brightness should you want to use this monitor for something other than it's intended purpose. I have many ikan monitors and I like them and prefer them over similarly priced options for Lilliput.

Does it automatically adjust brightness?
I hate driving, and be blinded by a screen at night.

Exactly! There's too many of these gadgets that don't incorporate a nighttime mode, especially in a vehicle at night where it's important to cut out bright displays that distract and cause accidents.

A basically crap video monitor gets 20 TU? I don't get it. I'd prefer the TU comes from owners or purchasers, not just to give a rep.

I'd say it's good for anything but direct sunlight. Most crappy computer monitors are 250. A nice monitor is 300-350. And that's a computer monitor. A huge TV would be about 500-650 but this isn't meant to be as bright.

They make 1000-1500 nit monitors for pros who shoot outside but they are about $1000 or more.

This would be perfect for indoor use. I have a similar monitor I use with my camera. 10x better than using the screen on the camera or viewfinder.
