I am not sure I see market at $200 when switch can be had for less than $100 more. We did just get $80 2ds.

the 80 dollar 2ds won't be compatible with games in the future. a deal on a 2ds xl or a refurb 3ds xl would have been better.

switch comparison wise.........apples vs oranges. the switch also isn't just $100 more. total on this deal is $208 shipped from costco. you'll end with a switch and one game for $400. plus you're talking ds vs switch and they are completely different consoles.

with the ds you're buying zelda link between worlds for $20 where as with the switch you'll be lucky to get a decent indie game for that much. there really is no comparison between the two b/c its a portable vs a console.

Plus when you start adding in the extras for the Switch that you are gonna need it really starts to add up.

Also, what future games for the 3DS?? Have you looked at the 2018 release schedule?? There is very little, so it looks like it may be the end of the line for 3DS.

The 3DS can play NDS games and That platform has TONS of good games.

Also i think there is a wat to play GBA games too. Though not directly

This has been debated in many Nintendo threads already:

3DS PROS: Cheaper than Switch, has 3D effect, more durable for kids, extremely mature library of games (3DS, NDS, digital titles from NES - N64, etc)... including a good variety of games for very young children (rated EC).

3DS CONS: Less powerful hardware than the Switch (not going to get HD-quality visuals or overly-complex games), will be discontinued in 1-2 years in the future (thus less developers concentrating on this line now), can't conveniently "dock" to connect to a TV when at home (may matter to some people).

SWITCH PROS: Much more powerful hardware than the 3DS line (bigger screen, HD, more impressive games, etc), replaces home & portable console, has promising line-up of games coming.

SWITCH CONS: More expensive (especially including extra docks, joycons, pro controller, etc to make it a "convenient" home console replacement), doesn't have as many games in its library at the moment (will gradually be remedied with time), isn't as durable as the 3DS (seriously, don't give it to your 4-year-olds), doesn't have games suitable for very young children (no Sesame Street, Dora, etc... may or may not matter for you).

People can call this a deal all they want but $185 to $200 is too much for a 7 to 8 year old system.

The New 3DS has only been out for a little over 3 years.

Is Ocarina remastered in any significant way or is it basically just a straight port? I never played it much as a kid so the nostalgia won't be enough for me.
